I taught an adult education class tonight. There were four guys who obviously knew each other and a Spanish girl - large class. The guys were all jokey as if they all belonged to the same firm - but the mix wasn't right - they were different ages. I enjoyed the class and they were eager to learn.

I got them going and towards the end of the class one of them asked about other courses. They were interested in learning about the internet and then one asked about using mobile phones - I thought he was joking.

Then I found out that they were all on a prison release course and genuinely had never used a phone. Anyway I am now trying to work with them and tomorrow I'll be contacting their education officer.
