a late starter

Ponsonby-Smythe turns up Milady's Mansion. He did not read the invitation properly and so came without a tie.

Jenkins, the butler, looks him up and down and says. "I am sorry Sir, I cannot allow you into the party without a tie.

Ponsonby-Smythe goes back to his sports car and searches it. He cannot find a tie, but finds a set of jump leads.

He carefully ties the leads into a Windsor knot and goes back to the front door.

"Certainly Sir." says Jenkins, "But please don't start anything"
